About the Area
Located in the Cheshire East district, Poynton is around 11 miles south-east of Manchester, close to Stockport and Macclesfield.
Just on the outskirts of Cheshire’s ‘golden triangle’, Poynton is a small town that feels more like a village. Nestled in lush green countryside, Poynton offers idyllic walks in the woodland, a pretty little high street, and Lyme Park, the setting for the infamous Colin Firth Mr Darcy lake scene in the BBC’s 1995 production of Pride and Prejudice. .Â
Poynton Park, home of Poynton Pool, is a few minutes from the town centre, where you will find exciting bars and eateries, including Panache One London Road, the Flute and Firkin and wine shop/tasting bar Vinehop.

Through the Summer, you might catch an original production by The Poynton Players, who have been entertaining crowds since 1931, and Poynton Summerfest brings together local artisans, musicians and culinary delights.

The beloved Brookside Miniature Railway at Brookside Garden Centre was saved from closure by the locals and is ideal for all ages.
