About the Area
Sitting snuggly at the bottom of the Snake Pass, Glossop is a pretty market town in Derbyshire.
An excellent base for the Peak District, Glossop provides easy access to the Longdendale Valley, Bleaklow, Black Hill, and Kinder Scout, among many attractive walks.
Almost a quarter of the town lies within the Peak District National Park, while Old Glossop dates back to the 12th century and provides a perfect picnic spot on the grounds of Manor Park.
Aside from stunning walking trails, you’ll find exquisite stone cottages, a medieval market cross, and old cotton mills that have been given a new lease of life as a hotel, pubs and shops. The Glossop high street is home to famous brands and independents alike, and you can enjoy afternoon tea or delicious meals made from fresh local produce. The pubs also offer craft beers and local live music.
